The Challenge

In December 2022, Google announced that they will emphasise E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) as key factors in determining a website’s ranking in search engine results. This update reflected Google’s growing focus on ranking trustworthy content across the web. Following this update, Kwasi wanted to position Bunnik Tours as a knowledge leader in travel experiences.

The Solution

While Bunnik Tours has consistently performed well in organic search results, Kwasi refined Bunnik Tours’ SEO strategy following this update to put additional emphasis on positioning Bunnik Tours as knowledge leaders in the travel industry. Kwasi began optimising Bunnik Tours’ blogs to align with Google’s E-E-A-T criteria to enhance their credibility and authority in search results.

Additionally, in July 2024, we began developing content hubs to further establish Bunnik Tours as a company with high credibility and expert leaders for the destinations they travel to. This strategy can be measured by the impact on search rankings when Google releases its algorithm updates as websites that meet the E-E-A-T criteria are more likely to maintain or improve their search rankings after an algorithm update.

The Results

Bunnik Tours achieved a 27% increase in organic clicks

By following Kwasi’s authority-focused SEO strategy, Bunnik Tours achieved a 27% increase in organic clicks and 113% increase in impressions for the period of July to September compared to the previous 3 month period. Bunnik Tours’ average SERP position also moved up by 2 positions in the 3 month period. They also observed significant gains in visibility on SERPs as seen in the graph below. The ‘G’ symbol denotes Google algorithm updates.
