The 2024 program has landed with a huge range of shows appealing to all tastes. Feeling overwhelmed? We get you. Last year’s Fringe set a record 1,000,000 plus tickets sold and this year’s Fringe promises to be even bigger than ever with over 1,300 shows expected to take place across the Adelaide CBD and regional South Australia.
Our team has scoured the lineup to unearth hidden gems that promise laughter, surprises, and perhaps a touch of the unexpected. Read our top picks below!
Jess – Senior Account Strategist

If you ever seen him on Have You Been Paying Attention and Thank God You’re Here, you know you’ll be in for a treat. He has this really dry, quirky, quick-witted sense of humour that works so well for TV, so I can’t wait to see 60 mins of just him and see what he’s like IRL.

SÉANCE was one of my favourite Fringe Festival shows in recent memory. These sensory shows by Darkfield are some of the funnest Adelaide Fringe experiences I’ve had. They are loads of fun to do at night, especially if you fancy a jump scare or two. I’d recommend rolling into The Garden with a few friends to suffer together.

Josh Thomas is refreshingly funny on his TV shows (Please Like Me & Everything’s Gonna Be Okay) as well as his appearances on Talkin’ Bout Your Generation. With this tour selling out in most US & Canada venues and his history of consistently good stand-up in his career, I’m super excited to see this one and have a giggle.

Adelaide musician, Adam Page, always puts on a surprising performance crafted by building layers upon layers of sound by looping a wide range of instruments. It’s not just that Page can play so many instruments so well (not easy), but the inventiveness of the music he creates with them is amazing.

With a son who loves basketball, I feel really intrigued by the little bits and pieces I know about the story behind Isaac Humpries. His life experiences, the challenges he has faced and how he overcame them especially in the sporting public eye. Hopefully it’s a heartwarming motivational life success story we can all take something from.
Andrew – Technical Lead
Sh!t-faced Shakespeare – Macbeth

The Bard and booze, what more can you ask for? I see these guys every year, they always do a brilliant job, and with this year being a Tragedy, the juxtaposition of an absolutely sloshed actor and the gravity of the scenes playing out will once again just be comedy gold.
Greg – Chief Executive Officer
Amos Gill: Going Down Swinging

There are so many shows that I’m looking forward to that no doubt I will end up attending. But I’ve seen Amos a few times now and he never disappoints. Brilliant but very different every time I’ve seen him. He should be way more successful than he is (and he is already pretty successful).
Woj – Founder/Digital Strategist
The Dark Side of the Moon: Full Dome Experience
Image provided by Adelaide Fringe
Gazing around at 360 degree visuals in a dome set to 10 tunes from The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd… sounds like a great way to spend 50 minutes. This immersive experience is put on by Electric Dreams who we’ve supported in the past and have consistently delivered great shows. A very close second will be a visit to Sleep’s Hill Tunnel, a historic and relatively unknown old train tunnel in Adelaide transformed into a magical “kaleidoscope of colourful forest fungi species”.

Super excited to catch Hypnotic at the Adelaide Fringe this year. I enjoy magic related shows and this one appears to be a nice blend of hypnosis and humour making it even better! It also comes recommended by a friend and I’ve been told by someone at Kwasi that it’s’ even better if you’re one getting hypnotised!
Almee – Digital Project Manager

As vouched for by a mate of mine, ‘The Stripsons’ show turns classic Simpsons moments into a ripper of a spectacle – saucy, hilarious and seductive. I’m getting set for a wild ride as I’m pretty sure the legends behind Swamplesque will once again bring our beloved Springfield crew back in full burlesque and drag flair. ¡Ay, caramba!
Tay – SEO & Content Marketing Assistant

As a lover of country music and the icon herself, Dolly, I’m most looking forward to how Night Owl Shows recreate some of her chart-topping tunes in The Dolly Parton Story. With an incredible reputation already and many sold out shows, I know I won’t be disappointed. Plus, any show that i can boogie to, is a good show in my book – make dolly proud!
Dre – Account Manager

Known for rapid-fire humour and outrageous crowd interactions, Luke is one of Australia’s rising comedians. After his global tour in 2023, he’s bringing top-notch comedians for a night of guaranteed laughter. I rate him.
So there you have it. You can catch all of these shows and more by going to the Fringe website. Dive into Australia’s biggest arts festival with enthusiasm and start planning your season. Happy Fringe-ing.

ME ‘N ME MATES Australian songs & yarns

Just the name of this show sounds so exciting to me. As a fan of music from all over the world and the Aussie lifestyle, I can’t wait to see and listen to a performance that is half a live concert and half a cabaret show with lots of country and folk songs. It is perfect to enjoy a bit more of this country that has received me with wide arms during one of the most important events in Adelaide.
